June Goodnow has a video demonstrating a Magic Skin technique. This is what June says about the video and how it might help you.

"I think it will be a breakthrough to help artists who work with the polymer clays. It is amazing what this new technique allows you to do with clay. So FAST and so CLEAN!"

"I was visiting another dollmaker in Chico, CA recently, to deliver her tape, and just sitting in her workshop, playing with some clay, I had given her a quickie demo, and had a sweet little doll sculpted in about 30 minutes!"

This new video is a culmination of June Goodnow's doll sculpting teaching methods she has developed over her years of sculpting

June shows you step-by-step how to build the doll's shoulder plate, the neck, and how to cover the aluminum foil skull with polymer clay, just the way June has taught her seminars in the past.

In addition to these techniques, is the added benefit of her new Magic Skin technique, all included in one video.

June Goodnow's Magic Skin Doll Sculpting is available on video. The video is the next best thing to being in June's studio looking over her shoulder!

Silicone Mold Making and Resin Casting
with NIADA Artist, June Goodnow

June has a previously released how-to video for doll makers who work in polymer clay. She got tired of some of her dolls breaking, before ever reaching the collector.

June first learned how to make a flexible silicone mold about seven years ago. She then started casting her dolls in a resin that looks like polymer clay, but has a big advantage over them - it doesn't break!

On the video, you will see how to set up your doll in a bed of clay; how to box in the doll and clay bed, how to mix and pour the first part of a two-piece mold, about the curing, how to take the mold boards off, remove the clay bed and set it up in preparation to receive the second half of the mold.

June then shows you how to take the mold apart, how to remove the original doll head from the mold, and how to prepare the new mold for casting resin and how to mix, cast and de-mold the resin parts.

June shows you all her tricks-of-the-trade so you can get good castings. She also shows you how to dye the resin in order to get various skin tones: Asian, African-American, and Caucasian. She also shows you where to purchase the silicone and resin and dye supplies!
